Johnson Sauk Trail State Park Running Journal August 28, 2008

Hidden away in central Illinois is Johnson Sauk Trail State Park. This heavily forested area contains a lake and many trails. The mostly tree lined black top road circles the lake containing many challenging hills that make for very good training. Scattered around the lake are several trails and picnic areas. Also here is one the few remaining round barns and it is open for tours so you can see agriculture of the last century.

Around 4 pm today I started from our campsite, if you can call a trailer camping. It had been raining most of the day and was misting as I started. The air was so heavy with humidity; fortunately the 70-degree temperature was not that warm. I ran for 59 minutes just going around the lake.
