Don’t Putter Around Just Go Out And Run!

I ran the Illinois Valley Striders Steamboat 15k this past Saturday. It is a very hilly course but I did just fine, getting the time I wanted. We have been out of town since then and today was my first chance to run. At 10:30AM it was only about 80 degrees so I decided to do 10 miles. My wife was at our daughter’s house being grandma so I called and said I was going out running.
As I was putting on my running clothes I noticed the laundry from our trip needed washed. While going out the front door I noticed the front flowerbed really needed weeding so I did that. While getting my gardening tools I noticed the bushes out back really needed trimming so I did that. I just kept puttering around doing things until 12:30 then left to run. On the way back I noticed a red Honda Civic just like ours in the parking lot up ahead, after getting closer I saw that it was my wife. She told me it is about 90 degrees and she had been very worried and had been driving around looking for me. She did not know that I was running so far or that I had left 2 hours after I called her.
Lesson learned don’t putter around just go out and run!
